Mass Communication
Mass
Communication is basically a method of communicating with masses through
different media such as newspapers, television, radio etc. It is a good way of
communication because numerous people get involved in the communication process
at a time. 20 years back from now, it was one way communication process but now
through the various means of communication like postal, mobile, telephone,
email services it became easy for common man to communicate with the electronic
as well as print media and share own views about the current affairs in the
world; it has became a two way communication process.
There are
various institutes which give technical education required to work in the field
of mass communication. Right from advertising to public relations everything is
taught thoroughly in the institutes like Vishwakarma Creative-I college (Pune),
Maharashtra Institute of Technology (Pune), Indira Gandhi Open University, Symbiosis Institute Pune & Mumbai, Suryadatta Group of Institutes Pune and many more. The expertise in the sector of writing such as
copywriting, script writing, public relations, media relations, news &
feature writing can be done through the education of mass communication. Apart
from this, expertise in the camera, cinematography, art direction, film
direction, film editing is also checked.
The major
advantage of this sector is, students from any stream can take admission for
bachelors’ or master’s degree in mass communication. There are various
government jobs available when a candidate completes diploma, graduation or
post graduation from this field. There are numerous private jobs available for
the candidates or else they can start their own business such as recording
studio, advertising agency, public relations firm. Also one can be a part of
movie direction, editing etc.
Mass communication today have enormous scope of growth across the world. I insist 12th passed students to go for it if they are interested in these kind of sectors.
